Use a Siglent scope to inspect rail droop, ringing, rise time, pulse width, and other electrical behavior. Captures appear in the Monitor’s Oscilloscope tab.

Check the model

The supported family includes SDS802X HD, SDS804X HD, SDS812X HD, SDS814X HD, SDS822X HD, and SDS824X HD. Other Siglent generations are not interchangeable with this integration. Use the two physical channels on models ending in 2X HD, or four on models ending in 4X HD.

Connect

Put the scope on a network reachable from the Embedder host and complete the requested instrument setup. If discovery fails, provide its IP address or set it before launching Embedder:
This connection uses LAN; USB-TMC is not supported by the Siglent integration.

Take a single capture

Name the channel, coupling, scale, timebase, trigger, and timeout. Enable every channel used by a trigger. To inspect an acquisition already stopped on the scope, ask to read it without rearming.

Choose a trigger

Supported analog triggers include edge, pulse, slope, window, runt, dropout, interval, nth edge, pattern, qualified, delay, setup/hold, and video. Ask Embedder to read back the applied trigger if the capture behaves unexpectedly. The SDS800X HD has no external trigger input. Digital trigger sources require the appropriate MSO hardware and supported trigger type.

Measure and save

Save the waveform with its settings. You can also request a front-panel screenshot; use a .bmp filename. For instrument functions outside the standard controls, Embedder can use the supported scope’s SCPI commands in a hardware script. Ask for the command and readback when configuring an unfamiliar setting.

Troubleshoot

  • No scope: check the IP address, network, and scope network settings.
  • Model rejected: confirm the exact supported family.
  • Trigger timeout: verify the enabled source, level, polarity, coupling, and expected event.
  • Clipped signal: increase volts per division or adjust the offset.
  • Unexpected old frame: request a new single acquisition and wait for its trigger.
Use PicoScope for a supported USB scope or a logic analyzer for decoded digital traffic.
